Pro's Day is upon us yet again and as usual there are a few surprises in store for you all!! It's great to see such a great start list - basically all the tees are full so let's hope the weather stays fair, which it looks like doing.
There will be a nice buffet available after the round and games near the patio area as well, so if you can stay with us let's have some fun. I am aiming to do the prizes around one hour after the finish of the morning round but we may be able to keep the afternoon games going longer if people are really enjoying them. Your first go on the putting competition and chipping competition is included as is the food but there's no reason why you can't keep going - who will be the putting supremo of 2016?? Warren 'Trev' Bennett and Simon Page will be on hand to keep you all in order.
Open Week at Chestfield
What a good week it's been - every day has been busy with nothing but good reports coming from visitors and members alike. I would personally like to say well done to David and Yvonne Bridge who have worked very hard over several months purely to ensure this week is a success. I have no doubt that their hard work has succeeded this week and will lead to the success of future years' Open Weeks. It is a great way of showcasing the club as well as a week where everyone can enjoy some friendly competition. Well done to all.
And on that note, I have to mention the standard of the greens at the moment. They really are beautiful and a credit to the greenstaff and to the club. No wonder we are getting great reviews from visitors. I play lots of courses over the year and the only course I can compare our greens to for consistency and purity of roll are Royal Mid Surrey's and that is saying something!
We still have great offers that you can take advantage of. As usual the trolley companies are doing their yearly 'free bag' offers. Powakaddy, who have made a surge of late back towards the top of the trolley pack, are currently offering a bag and free accessories with their FW7 model - that's a saving of £150! They have always had wonderful folding systems on their trolleys so I am very glad to be adding them back to the line up of trolleys we can supply.
Motocaddy, of course, are still flying high and their current range is superb, especially with their new folding system. If you'd like information on any trolley please pop in and see us in the shop. More on the Motocaddy range can be found on my website - simply click here.
Next week I will be giving you news of a new series of group lessons that I will be doing myself. In particular these will focus on short game. These will help with not just technique but also with how the modern equipment can help. If you consider that Titleist and Nike, to name just two, have three different sole grind styles in their ranges you can see just how confusing that can be. More information next week!
