Hi all,
The sun has finally come out! Isn't it amazing just how quickly our course dries up once it does as well? Give us another week of this and we'll be complaining they don't water the course often enough!! It's certainly great to see so many faces suddenly out playing golf again. The trolleys being back on is a huge change and it can't be long before we have buggies on as well.
Two years ago a young man came to me for his first lesson. Kieran Stubbs was nine at the time and clearly he had some potential. So you can imagine how pleased I am for him that this week he received a letter from the Kent County U-14s team telling him that he had been selected to play for them in several tournaments this year - at the age of 11! I hope you will all support him and the other juniors in their efforts this year as when they do things like that it really does help to put the name of Chestfield Golf Club in the spotlight.
I really do have high hopes for Kieran but of course there is a long way to go for him. It does show how much effort has been put into the juniors in the last few years as we have Sam and Ben Robertson, Jack Mount, Kieran, Max Reid, Sam Menzies and the very promising nine year old Zac De Souza (who last year won the Junior Club Championship handicap event at the age of 8 after shooting a gross score in the 90s!) all regularly playing now.
It looks like we will have a junior team out all season for the first time in many years so, again I hope you'll wish them all the best if you see them around the club - they need your support!!
Now that trolleys are allowed on the course why not treat yourself to a new Motocaddy trolley or iCart for the coming season? These are the foldable 3-wheel style that makes a big difference on our hilly course. We are also main dealers for Motocaddy and Powacaddy so if you are considering a trolley or even a battery for either then let us know - there is a big advantage to buying powered trolleys from your club pro. We will assemble them and take care of any issues you have. I will also offer discounts to my members on these top brands where many will not!
We also have new bags arriving including the new waterproof bag from Motocaddy. Waterproof bags are becoming more and more popular but with the Sun Mountain H2NO, and the Titleist StaDry coming in around the £200 mark (both of which we also supply) so the Motocaddy which lists at £179.99 is incredible value.
This is also fitted with the new Motocaddy 'slot' system that means it will not wobble on a Motocaddy trolley so bear that in mind. You can see the new bag and the Motocaddy range in your shop now.
We still have the amazing deal on Srixon Z-Star balls - £29.99 per dozen including the yellow ball that I use!
