Hi everyone, 

So the least well-kept secret ever was confirmed this week. No, not that ex-President Obama's marriage has been over for ages (allegedly of course - bit political) but instead that Tiger Woods has 'joined' the TaylorMade family. That's quite a fun statement to me as it's been quite public knowledge for a while that he was involved in a consortium looking into buying the oft troubled firm. As it is Rory McIlroy was also reported to be involved but that now seems not to be the case.

Certainly it is about time that TaylorMade got new owners in. For those of you who have not been around as long as some of us they have had a very up and down past. They have always been perhaps the biggest marketers in the game and they have certainly had some great products in their time, but they also seem to have had continual problems behind the scenes which has resulted in yo-yoing success. Having dealt with them myself I can confirm that they can be a somewhat difficult company to deal with for a variety of reasons but, on the other hand, they can also produce some great clubs, most notably drivers.

Now, it appears, they have the biggest name in golf on their side. As many of you know I've been involved with Nike for many years now so what is happening with the big Nike staff players is definitely relevant to me. I will soon be stocking both Callaway, across the board, and TaylorMade drivers, all available to try and be fitted for in my indoor swing studio. Keep watching this space and I will give you more information closer to the time that it is all in place.
