Hi everyone,
Now I can say it - summer's here. For the first time this morning I walked out of my house with just a short-sleeve shirt on, and felt warm. I'm sure it won't last very long but it feels good all the same. I thought the course looked fantastic at the weekend and this weather can only improve things further. Certainly the recent scoring seems to suggest that it's playing very well so I look forward to seeing even better scores coming in soon.
Now that we're all finally able to get our shorts and short-sleeve shirts out, you might be wanting to freshen up your wardrobe. So we are going to have a summer sale for the rest of June. All stock shirts and shorts that are not on our sale rail are available with £10 OFF their marked price so this is the best time to pick up a bargain. This includes Nike, PING, Glenmuir and the new SunIce range.
We also have a special deal on the Callaway Chrome Soft ball. We only have a limited amount but right now you can buy a dozen for £24.99. This is Callaway's top ball in their range and is their equivalent of the Titleist Pro V1 so this is an absolute bargain. Learn more about the Chrome Soft here.
Summer shoes will no doubt be high on your list as well. It's been a difficult year for getting those casual sole summer styles out but dry weather seems to be here (although the storms a few days ago changed things a little). We have offerings from FootJoy, Nike and Skechers - the latter being some of the comfiest shoes I've tried.
I do want to mention our juniors this week. For the first time in many years we have a junior section that is large enough for us to enter the East Kent Junior League. On Sunday, they travelled to Walmer and Kingsdown, which most of us know as a tough place to go to and get any kind of result. How impressive is it that two of our groups won their matches. Kieran Stubbs and Sam Robertson, both playing extremely well recently, had a little 5&4 win whilst Sam Menzies and Zac D'Souza won 3&2. The remaining pair, Max Reid and Ben Robertson, were narrowly beaten.
Max has had 8 shots hacked from his handicap this year (that's the problem with getting better Max)
Ben has had a back injury that's stopped him from playing for a while
They still took their opponents very close so they should all be congratulated for their efforts and pulling off a great team win. We will watch them, and the rest of the junior section, with interest and I hope you will all continue your support of them.
