In this week's newsletter we look at some new brands for 2016 that have landed in-store, provide you details about our Easter Camp, as well as finding out how Rory proved me wrong. Enjoy the read.


How wrong could I be? 

The moment I give Rory McIlroy's putting the thumbs down he goes out and putts like a God for the rest of the tournament. He couldn't quite finish it off for the win but his putting wasn't the issue for a change. I suppose this proves one thing:

You can make a change in your putting and see very quick results

Our long games can take far longer to change and make natural, but when the movement is small it can be very immediate. Of course the winner was one of the other recent putting style changers, Adam Scott, who won back-to-back with an amazing back nine after two double-bogeys on the front. Let's face it, as good as he hits the ball you aren't going to do that without being very confident with your putter.

Lots going on in the Pro Shop

Due to the weather, it seems very appropriate to tell you about a number of bag deals we have on at the moment which include the waterproof styles from Titleist and Motocaddy. Both are available with money off for part exchange of your old bags. This is only for a limited period so come in and grab a deal now. 

We have also had delivery of the new range of bags and premium push trolleys from BIG MAX. These are high quality, folding, three-wheel trolleys plus a high quality range of matching waterproof carry and cart bags. There is an excellent range of accessories that go with them as well so we now offer these and the Masters iCart series in-store.

Titleist have also started their 4 for 3 offer on Pro V1s that they do every year. This is where you get four dozen for £120 which includes free personalisation - a fantastic value offer. Again this is for a limited time but it has to be worth taking advantage of. Order yours online here.

Nike get it right

On the ball front we also have the new Nike RZN balls. You will probably all know that I am a Nike Swoosh Staff player but I have never promoted their, or anyone else's, products if I don't totally believe in them. This year Nike have got it right. The RZN platinum is beautiful. It feels like it really comes off the club face (previous versions felt very hard and 'dead') but it spins well on short shots and feels lovely off the putter. It really is a ball I would now recommend with the RZN White being a great alternative to the NXT Tour. The platinum has gone straight into my bag and I will be using it all season - I feel that good about it. At £10 a sleeve or £7 for the White, these are great value against their competitors so try them - you'll see what I mean. 

However, if you fancy a bargain then there are lots of reduced balls in the shop. We have a few of last year's Nike range left and also the NXT Tour and S on discount so, once again, this is the time to stock up.

Many of you will already have seen the new Nike shirts that are in the shop, and you will also have seen Rory McIlroy wearing them over the last few weeks. The new collar is called a blade and we have several versions in stock. The rest of our spring range is arriving this week and we also have more Glenmuir crested clothing coming soon.


New shoes landed in-store

We have had a number of new shoes arrive in the last week including the highly popular Skechers range. Their Go-Golf Pro shoe has been one of our biggest sellers and this year they have added a casual version of that shoe which I have no doubt will be one of our biggest sellers. We also have a special shoe from the FootJoy Contour range which is more traditional but uses the famous Contour series footbed. These are incredibly comfortable and fully waterproof and, most importantly, I can offer you them at £20 less than the rest of the Contour Series range.


Junior Easter Camp

One last thing to mention is a Junior Easter Camp that Simon and Stevie are holding on Wednesday, 30 March from 10am to 3pm. This is open to all juniors between 5 and 13 years of age and will include four hours of tuition and fun plus lunch for £30 per junior. These are always well attended and the juniors always have fun so you can be assured they will enjoy themselves and learn lots at the same time. You can register your junior golfer in the shop or over the phone so just contact us to get them on the list.
