Hi everyone,
So what's happened to Rory McIlory? After winning at Quail Hollow he hasn't put a decent round together and now looks pretty certain to miss the cut in Ireland - an event he is hosting. My own opinion is there is very little wrong - he is trying to do an awful lot and these are the difficulties of the game of golf. He has always been a little iffy with his putting at times and that certainly seems to be hitting him at the moment. But he will be back for the US Open which is not far away now.
Talking of which, we will be running our usual Major tournament sweep with big prizes as ever. We will be going round the clubhouse at the weekend but if you would like a go just pop into the shop.
New arrivals in store
Just this week we have taken delivery of Odyssey's 2015 range of putters. This range - known as Odyssey Works - features classic Odyssey head designs and the company’s most advanced face technology to date: these are some of the best performing putters ever made. Odyssey has been at the forefront of putter face technology since the introduction of the Dual Force back in 1994.
The Odyssey Works range is the culmination of years of research and development. Click here to learn more.
Competition news
I think last weekend's competitions need a special mention. Firstly, the Stableford on Saturday saw some outstanding scoring. It's not often that 43 points gets beaten but I'm afraid that happened to Darren Bovis who came second in Division A to Dean Brabon who scored 45 points off 12! Unbelievable stuff by both players. But on Sunday we had the result possibly of the year as Mr Richard Miller swept all before him to take the Abe Mitchell Memorial Trophy with 41 points . Well done, Richard and I hear you had a great score on the 18th???
Clearly the greens are recovering beautifully so I'm looking forward to Sunday when myself and the Captain take on Pete Barnes and Andy Sait - easy!
