Where'd the season go...
Unbelievably we are well into September already and it feels that although Christmas just finished it’s almost upon us again. Summer seems to be fading away, although we’ve had some great weather recently, and unfortunately that means the cold weather is coming. You will see that the shop has started to reflect this with new sweaters and half-zips already on display and I’ll shortly have the new waterproof range from ProQuip as well. Shoes start to become really important and you’ll see that I have good stock of the FootJoy Contour Fit and also the two types of Boot that they offer.
Do not discount the Boot – once on under trousers you’d never know they were a boot and they are surprisingly comfortable, and very waterproof. One other feature is that they give ankle support which can be a great benefit to some.
As I said though the good weather is continuing at the moment and it seems the course is playing nicely, certainly going by the scores I keep seeing.
This week saw the first Sunday of the Autumn where I did my own Stableford competition and the scores were very impressive:
Up to 14 h’cap: 1st – Nick Miller, 42 pts on c’b. 2nd – Dave Pasola, 42 pts on c’b. 3rd – Kingsley Greenaway, 42 pts. 15 and over: 1st – Alan Williams, 42 pts. 2nd – Nick Severn, 41 pts. 3rd Pete Gibbons, 40 pts. Well done guys – you have £35, £25 and £15 respectively on your accounts. There were also 7 2s and they win £7 per 2. They were: Pete Gibbons - 16th, Dave Pasola - 15th, Kingsley Greenaway – 8th and 15th, Steve Guy – 2nd, and Andy Seal – 16th. |
