Not quite as dry...
Back home the course isn’t quite as dry as in the Middle East but, having played in the Captain’s last shotgun at the weekend, I can confirm it’s standing up very well. Clearly, from the scoring, it’s also playing well. The winning team of Chris Thomas, Tristan Galvin and Joe Thomas certainly thought so as they made no less than 13 birdies. They actually managed to bogey the first before birdieing every other hole on the front nine. Very impressive and as you can imagine they won by a few shots. Fantastic stuff guys and great that it shows how well the greens, in particular, are playing. To keep you all sharp I will be running a pro’s stableford this Sunday, which is of course completely optional. There can be no doubt that playing in competitions will help you to play your best golf. If you only play the odd round with a card in your hand it is amazing how that extra bit of pressure seems to have an affect. The more times you are there the better you will be at handling it so take as many opportunities as you can. It’s the usual £5 entry on Sunday so just pop in the shop if you’d like to enter.
