Hi everyone, So, yet another American has won a major for the first time, joining quite the list in recent times. Justin Thomas joined Brooks Koepka, Jimmy Walker and Dustin Johnson as recent first time American major winners but they also joined Jordan Spieth to send a clear message to European golf that the tide may well have turned in their favour. I am talking, of course, about the Ryder Cup, which we have dominated for some time, but I really do think that since winning it last time the US's line up has strengthened significantly and we may well be staring at a significant period of US dominance. I would love that to be turned on its head by our boys but you only have to look at the two possible line ups for next year to get pretty frightened. On top of the players listed above, the US will also have Ricky Fowler, Patrick Reed, Matt Kuchar, who so nearly won the Open, and then possibles like the Kevins, Chappell and Kisner. Of course I also haven't mentioned Phil Mickelson or Bubba Watson who, although not playing their best at the moment, could be huge threats at any time. We do have our bright sparks of course, and one to note is Jon Rahm, although you could be forgiven for thinking he is American! In fact we have four players in the worlds' top ten in McIlroy, Garcia, Rahm and Stenson but the next two, although great players, don't particularly make me think the US team will be shivering in their boots - Alex Noren and Tommy Fleetwood. This is, of course, merely a subject for discussion, but I do believe that there is a momentum gathering in American golf and it could be that our Ryder Cup side is on the receiving end very soon. Let's hope I'm completely wrong!
