Well it's been a very busy few weeks. With the rain and warm weather combining recently the course is resembling something from Pinehurst (you'll know what I mean if you've got in the deep stuff recently!) but there has been some really good scoring nevertheless.




Pro's Day is rapidly approaching - Saturday 12th July. Normal fun and games will ensue and we will try to have something new and exciting on the day to keep you amused!! Watch this space. 

We will also be doing a special sweep for The Open in July with big prizes. I will be coming round at the weekends with sheets so if you fancy the chance to win big then get your name in fast.

Before I get to the winners - huge congratulations to Ron Griffin on his first hole in one on Saturday which happened on the 12th. I believe he hit a towering 9 iron that span back 20 foot into the hole - I could be wrong though!

I would like to mention the new Friday Rumble that is now on every Friday. This is a 12 hole fun match at any time on a Friday - £3 entry with £1 for the 2's if you want to enter. Just book a tee time and book in with us in the shop.

Gavin Shopland produced a great nett 64 on Sunday in the RNLI which was comfortably the best score for some time. It is interesting to see how the fast, hard greens combined with deep thick rough really has made low scoring difficult. Now you know why the US Open is so tough!

For the last fortnight making a 2 has been worth lots of money - the lowest value for a 2 in the last 4 tournaments is £19.75 - that is hugely above the average and I can only put it down to how hard the greens are as they are beautiful to putt on at the moment. Well done to our Cap-i-tan who was narrowly pipped into second in his category this weekend and has been playing well recently - clearly getting ready for all the captain/pro matches that we have coming up so look out all of you!
